These institutions merged in 1976 to form the South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education, which eventually evolved into the Cardiff Metropolitan University we know today.

This journey reflects Cardiff Met's commitment to growth and adaptation, making it a prominent figure in the landscape of higher education in Wales.
Cardiff Met boasts two main campuses: Llandaff and Cyncoed. Llandaff is home to the Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff School of Art & Design, and the Cardiff School of Technologies. Surrounded by parks and the historic village of Llandaff, this campus offers a picturesque setting for academic pursuits.
Cyncoed, on the other hand, houses the Cardiff School of Education & Social Policy and the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences. With on-site accommodation, a campus center, and extensive sports facilities, Cyncoed is a hub of student activity and community life.
